Al-Qaeda leader 'Abu Abdullah Al-Masri' wounded in Derna airstrike

The head of the Omar Mukhtar operations room, Major General Salem al-Rafadi, said that one of the most prominent al-Qaeda leaders in the city of Derna, Omar Rifai Sorour (Egyptian nationality), was seriously injured during the aerial bombardment of one of the organization's headquarters in the city.

Al-Raffadi said in statements to Al-Ahram newspaper that the Egyptian" terrorist" had been monitored and confirmed that the members of the organization had called doctors in the city in an attempt to rescue him.

Omar Rifai Sorour, nicknamed "Abu Abdullah Al Masri", is considered one of the most important leaders of Al-Qaeda in the city of Derna and serves as a judge in the organization.
