The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Serraj, met with the head of the local council of Tawergha, Abdul Rahman al-Shakshak, on Monday.
"The meeting came to find out the latest developments concerning the return of the people of Tawergha to their city," the press office said.
The Information Office pointed out that Serraj briefed al-Shakshak on "the positive results of the meetings of the concerned committees to remove what impedes this return, which heralds the imminent end of the crisis."
Since early February, dozens of Tawergha's displaced people have been stranded in refugee camps after armed groups from Misrata prevented their return to the city.
The reconciliation agreement between Misurata and Tawergha faces major obstacles after the actions by these armed groups. A reconciliation agreement between the representatives of the local councils of Misrata and Tawergha was signed in Tunisia on August 31, 2016 under the auspices of the United Nations.
