Libya will receive 300,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of next May, the German Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry explained in a statement, that this process will take place in the framework of the Covax initiative, the Global Alliance for vaccines and immunization, and the World Health Organization.
Foreign ministry confirmed the German federal government in Berlin has provided the Libyan health system an additional 9.5 billion euros in 2020.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas arrived in Tripoli this afternoon, accompanied by his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian and Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, as part of an affirmation of European support for Libya's new executive power.
In Tripoli, European foreign ministers met with the head of the National Unity Government Abdulhamid Dabaiba, Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush to discuss cooperation and support for the Libyan government to help it respond to future benefits.
