National Center for Disease Control: More than 1,800 coronavirus deaths in Libya since last March

Libya's National Center for Disease Control confirmed that there have been more than 1,800 coronavirus related deaths in various regions of Libya since the beginning of the pandemic in Libya. The center noted that it collected 4,191 samples on Sunday, with 771 testing positive.

In a statement published Monday on the center added that they recorded six more deaths on Sunday, raising the total to 1,883 since last March.

The cumulative number of infections is currently at 119,402, with 17,933 active cases and 99,586 recoveries.

According to the Information Department in the Interim Government's Ministry of Health, the Chairman of the Higher Committee to Combat the Coronavirus, Lieutenant General Abdul Raziq Al-Nadouri, issued an order to impose a "50 dinars fine on anyone who does not wear a facemask in public places."

He also ordered a "10,000 dinar fine on business owners who allows people to enter their premises without wearing a facemask."
