The National Center for Disease Control of Libya on Friday reported 404 new coronavirus cases, binging the national count to 4,879.
The center said in a statement that it had received a total of 2,144 suspected samples, 404 of which tested positive.
The center also reported 652 recoveries and 107 deaths due to the virus/
Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) on Thursday decided to extend its pandemic curfew by 10 days, and made it mandatory for people to wear face masks in public, adding that violators will be fined.
As well as the curfew, Libyan authorities have closed the country's borders, shut down schools and mosques and banned public gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus.
