19 medical workers test postive for coronavirus at Sebha Medical Center

Libya's National Center for Disease Control announced that 19 medical personnel at Sebha Medical Center have tested positive for the coronavirus according to a statement broadcast by the center's 'Health FM' radio station on Monday.

On Friday, the director the Center for Disease Control's Sebha office Abdul Hamid al-Fakhri said that the pandemic had affected medical personnel, stressing that the matter had reached "a more dangerous turning point."

The Supreme Committee to Combat Coronavirus in the municipality sent an urgent distress call last Wednesday to all officials in Libya to provide emergency medical personnel. The committee warned of a shortage of doctors, stressing that there were only six providing care to those infected with the virus in the whole region.
