The Italian Embassy in Libya announced it is supplying highly equipped ambulances to cities and towns in several areas of the country.

The ambulances will go into service in the northwest town of Garabulli and city of Zawiya, to the cities of Sabha and Ubari in southwestern Libya, the southeast Kufra district and to the Children's Hospital in the capital, Tripoli, according to a Facebook post by the Local Government Ministry.

Italy's Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino, Libya's Health Minister Hameed Ben Omar and Local Government Minister Milad al-Tahir attended a ceremony to mark the handover of the ambulances.

The ambulances are being supplied to Libya as part of the "Solidarity Bridge" program launched by the Italian government, said the report.
