143 deaths and 5,023 injured in eastern Libya traffic accidents during 2018

Al-Jala Hospital for Surgery and Accidents in Benghazi recorded 143 deaths, and 5,023 injured, including children and women, as a result of traffic accidents on coastal and main desert roads in eastern Libya during the last year.

The head of the hospital's information office, Fadia Al-Barghathi, tells Alwasat on Monday that the deaths and injuries received by the hospital are mostly young people between the ages of 18 and 35, accounting for more than 3,000 of the cases.

Al-Barghathi added that the cases, including children and women, in addition to nationals of Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Chad and Palestine, confirming that number traffic accidents increased dramatically in the last months of last year.
