Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba said on Thursday that Libya's Investment Authority “suffers from mismanagement.”

Dabaiba added, "It is necessary to form a committee to review and manage this institution and revitalize it," in a speech during the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the National Council for Economic and Social Development.

He continued, "The institution needs a pause, as it has become closed and no one can ask its officials," referring to their cooperation with a global advisory office to develop it.

During the last period, the Investment Authority witnessed many disputes over the legitimacy of its boards of directors, reaching the point of international arbitration.

A statement attributed to the institution was also circulated, a few days ago, declaring its affiliation to the government designated by the House of Representatives headed by Fathi Bashagha.
