Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced the lifting of force majeure Zueitina oil port on Tuesday.
The NOC explained in a statement that during the past two days it had carried out a security assessment of the port and fields operated by the Zueitina oil company, pointing to a "positive" assessment and concluding that there is a "significant improvement in the security situation that allows it to resume production and exports to global markets."
The Zueitina company is the main feeder of cooking gas and it is also an important source for the coastal fuel line system. It provides the North Benghazi station with gas fuel, which will alleviate the suffering of the people in the city of Benghazi and its suburbs.
As of now, Zueitina and Hariga ports are classified as safe ports, according to the NOC. It is currently evaluating the remaining oil fields and ports, according to the safety and security standards.
