NOC: More than $9.57 billion lost due to closure of oil facilities

Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that losses due to the closure of the oil sector, halting of production and export operations amounted to $9.576 billion.

A statement by the NOC on Wednesday, indicated that these losses were recorded in the last 235 days, since January 18.

The NOC renewed its call for “the immediate evacuation of military personnel in order to preserve the security of employees and the integrity of its infrastructure,” stressing that it “will not tolerate any action that may put the lives of its employees in danger or expose its facilities to damage or destruction, due to illegal military activity."

On Monday, the NOC revealed the appearance of a military battleship at Ras Lanuf as a barge entered the oil port last Saturday, adding that it has not left yet.
