Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Sunday that the total losses from sales opportunities as a result of the closure of oil facilities amounted to $8.124 billion during the last 205 days.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors for the NOC, Mustafa Sanallah, warned on Saturday, that "the militarization of oil facilities, the presence of mercenaries and military escalation increases the risks of the hydrocarbon and chemical materials stored at oil ports to workers and the local population."

Sanallah also warned of "a disaster greater than the one that occurred at the port of Beirut," and caused hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.
