"Libya suffered huge losses during the first quarter of 2020, due to the unlawful closures that affected many oil and gas facilities," said the head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla.

In a statement, Sanalla warned that "the corrosion caused by stagnant oil and salt water inside the pipes will lead to great material damage, which will cost us millions to repair them after the end of the crisis." He also warned that "the decrease in revenues will lead to a delay in government investments in public services."

According to figures issued by the National Oil Corporation, the total revenue of oil products during the first quarter of this year amounted to $ 3.4 billion, as oil exports declined by 92.30%.
