The Board of Directors of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) welcomed the release of two employees, Ashraf Msallam and Valentin-Laurentiu Puscasu, who had been kidnapped for a period of one year and 7 months.

In a statement issued on Monday, the NOC did not clarify the circumstances of the release but called on the relevant law enforcement agencies to "to urgently investigate this situation further and name and prosecute those responsible for this crime, to ensure future kidnappings never happen again.”

NOC chairman Mustafa Sanallah expressed his happiness at seeing "to see these men are safe and that their time in captivity has finally ended," stressing that the safety of employees is a top priority.
