Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that losses from oil facility closures have now exceeded $ 1.74 billion after crude production fell to 123,537 barrels per day on Tuesday.

The NOC renewed its calls to end irresponsible and irregular closings of its facilities, and allow an immediate resumption of operations for Libya and its people, according to a statement.

The NOC explained that the vital facilities of Tripoli and some of the surrounding and southern regions are still suffering from a lack of supplies due to the deteriorating security conditions, pointing to the urgent evacuation of fuel tankers from the port of Tripoli today, after shells fell meters away from a tanker loaded with oil and gas.
