The charge d'affaires at the US Embassy in Libya, Joshua Harris, reiterated his country's support for the National Oil Corporation, while the US Embassy in Libya noted that it will host a Libyan economic dialogue next month.
The US position came during a meeting with the chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, on Tuesday with the Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Libya, Joshua Harris.
The US embassy said on its Facebook page that Harris met with Sanalla to "confirm US support for the National Oil Corporation, which must remain independent and equipped with the appropriate resources in order to fulfill its vital mandate on behalf of all Libyans."
The US embassy said it "looks forward to hosting partners from all over Libya in an economic dialogue next month to facilitate a Libyan discussion on enhancing transparency and accountability in economic institutions and bioenergy."
