Sanalla in Washington, discusses attracting investments to the oil sector with US officials

The Chairman of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, visited Washington yesterday to meet with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Zeiss and US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, to discuss the plans  to increase production, through the development of oil facilities and improve security to attract US private sector investment. .

The meeting demonstrated “the support of the United States for the objectives of the National Oil Corporation, which is to remain a technical and neutral body working to ensure that oil production and revenues in Libya directly contribute to improving the lives of the Libyan people, as stipulated in UN Security Council Resolutions 2259 (2015), 2278 (2016) and 2362 (2017), according to a statement.

Norland reiterated US support for a UN-led political settlement of the crisis and the key role of NOC in promoting stability and shared prosperity in Libya.
