The United Nations Support Mission in Libya said it was committed to continuing the financial audit of the branches of the Central Bank of Libya, at the request of Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj last year.

"Restoring confidence, promoting transparency and supporting the reunification of Libya's financial and economic institutions are essential to Libya's stability and prosperity," the mission said in a statement.

On Tuesday, the United Nations Office for Project Services announced that it would open the bidding process for the Libyan and Libyan Central Bank branches at the request of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya following a failed tender earlier this year.
