Libya must remain exempt from any OPEC production cuts, the country's National Oil Corporation quoted its chairman, Mustafa Sanalla, as saying in a tweet.

Sanalla also said Libya has the right to recover production lost through conflict, and that the country has lost 25 million barrels of oil this year alone.

He explained that the National Oil Corporation is facing difficulties to maintain the current levels of production of about 1.3 million barrels per day because of the fragile situation, stressing that the safety of employees remains a top prioritiy and may require the withdrawal of all personnel from sites that are exploited militarily because "the militarization of facilities hinders the maintenance of production and increases."
