Climate change and its economic consequences have cost Libya $ 5.99 million a year over the past 19 years.

The non-governmental organization German Watch released a study released on Monday, on the impact of climate change in 180 countries, including Libya, during the past 19 years.

As a result of environmental risks, the study indicated that 1,050 people died in Libya during the period mentioned and is ranked 124th in the world at the index of the most vulnerable countries in 2018.

The German organization relied on four key indicators, determining the number of deaths due to climate risks in each country, the number of disasters caused by climate change, subsequent financial losses and their impact on domestic output.
