UNICEF announced it had completed the rehabilitation of six out of eight schools in Sebha municipality, in order to create a safer learning environment.
This effort came with the help of the European Union mission in Libya, which provided support from the Union's trust fund, according to a statement by the organization's office in Libya on Tuesday.
The statement also indicated that 1,344 students were provided with clean drinking water and sanitation facilities at Al-Hurriya Primary School located in Al-Jadeed district of Sebha.
In a related context, the Sebha Municipal Council announced the handover of another two schools in the Al-Jadid neighborhood for rehabilitation by the United Nations Development Program.
