This evening at the Martyrs' Square in the capital, Tripoli, the celebrations of the ninth anniversary of the February 17 Revolution began amid wide attendance by citizens in conjunction with many celebrations in other Libyan cities and regions.

The photos published by the media office of the Volcano of Anger Operation and activists through social networking sites showed a wide presence by Libyan citizens to participate in this year’s celebrations, which are the largest during the past years.

The streets of the capital were decorated for days with flags of independence under the slogan "February - a memory that is not absent - and a spirit renewed."
